Every legacy needs a guardian, and at JMS International Montessori, that role is now lovingly fulfilled by Mr. Rohan Tissera, the devoted husband of the late Mrs. Neluka Tissera. With quiet strength, compassion, and unwavering faith, Mr. Tissera now leads the institution his wife founded, continuing the mission she began over two decades ago.
From Banking to Early Childhood Education
Mr. Rohan Tissera’s journey is one of remarkable devotion and transformation. Formerly employed in the banking sector, he made the life-changing decision to step away from his corporate career in order to support his wife’s growing dream—JMS International Montessori.
Inspired by her passion for children and the Montessori method, he chose not only to help administratively but to fully commit by returning to study. He earned a Higher Diploma in Pre-School and Primary Education from the Open University of Sri Lanka, equipping himself with the skills and knowledge to truly become part of the Montessori world.
His decision was rooted in love—for his wife, for his family, and for the children whose lives they were shaping together.
Leading JMS with Love and Integrity
Today, as Director of JMS International Montessori, Mr. Tissera continues the school’s mission with the same heartfelt dedication. Under his leadership, JMS remains:
